About Me

Hello! I'm Isiah Butts, a tech enthusiast, gamer, and movie buff. I enjoy diving into the world of programming, crafting digital experiences, and learning about the ever-evolving tech landscape. When I'm not busy with coding projects, you'll find me gaming or watching my favorite films like Interstellar or Marvel's Avengers: Endgame. This blog is a space for me to share random musings, interests, and thoughts that pop into my head. Thanks for stopping by!

2/4/2016 - Burgers...mmm

Today, I have a sudden craving for some good burgers. It's one of those days where nothing else will do, and my mind keeps switching between two of my favorite burger spots: In-N-Out and The Habit. Both places offer something unique, whether it's the simplicity and consistency of In-N-Out or the more gourmet touch that The Habit brings with their charbroiled goodness. But choosing between the two is always a challenge. In-N-Out's animal-style fries and secret menu have a special place in my heart, but The Habit often surprises me with its fresh flavors.

What I love about both is that neither one tries to overcomplicate things—just good, solid burgers done right. On one hand, In-N-Out has that classic, nostalgic fast-food vibe. On the other hand, The Habit feels like a step up without being too pretentious. So, what do you say? Are you more team In-N-Out or team Habit? For now, I might have to flip a coin or just grab one of each. Problem solved!

2/2/2016 - DOH!

Ah, salads. For some, they're a healthy choice, a vibrant, crunchy meal filled with nutrients. For others—well, they’re just a disappointing replacement for the real food they crave. I fall squarely in the latter category. Don't get me wrong; salads have their place in the world, but when I'm looking for comfort food, a pile of greens isn't what comes to mind. There's a reason Homer Simpson famously shouted, "You don't win friends with salad!" It's just not the same as a satisfying, greasy burger or a slice of pizza dripping with cheese.

In social settings, salads often seem like the obligatory "healthy" option that no one really wants but feels compelled to order. Every time I have a salad, I convince myself it’ll be enough, but by the end, I'm dreaming of a double cheeseburger. So, while I'll eat a salad if I have to, it's not winning any contests in my book. What about you? Are you a salad lover or, like me, do you believe in keeping the greens on the side?

1/29/2016 - Election

Politics is a tricky topic. It often feels like a subject better left unspoken, especially in a world where opinions differ wildly and can cause so much friction. But here's the thing about elections: they're essential. They're the reason we don't have to think about the complexities of running a country every single day. We elect officials to do the heavy lifting, so we can focus on our daily lives. However, that doesn't mean elections don't come with their share of frustrations and complexities. Sometimes, the choices feel less than ideal, leaving us with a Homer Simpson-esque "D'oh!" moment when trying to decide who to vote for.

What’s even more ironic is how election seasons often become less about policies and more about personalities. It's as if we've entered a reality show, where the winner isn't necessarily the best leader, but the best performer. Still, I take solace in the fact that, for better or worse, the system gives us a voice. And in the end, all we can do is cast our vote, cross our fingers, and hope for the best. Let's just hope whoever wins the next election doesn’t make us want to facepalm like Homer.
